My uniform is complete!

July 18, 2006

Yes – in other exciting news today, I finally got the final piece of my St John uniform — the shirt!  I am now fully equipped to go out and treat the people of Victoria.

Hmmm… this means no more excuses!  I will start on the 26th August, when I return from the Northern Territory.  Make sure you hold me to that!

Fun at Choir

July 18, 2006

Just had to write about the last 2 minutes of choir tonight. We are singing songs from the movies this semester, and although I prefer the religious-type music, I figure I’ll stick with it.

Anyway, for the last 2 minutes of tonight’s practice, Michael said we were going to do something different. And, taking me straight back to Kindergarten – we were divided into two groups and sang “Pack up your Troubles in your old Kit Bag” and “It’s a Long Way to Tipparary” in unison. Couldn’t believe I was reliving Kindy!

All the older people in the choir were incredibly surprised that I actually knew all the words — until I explained why. Amazing coincidences 🙂

I’ve started!

July 17, 2006

Yes – believe it or not – I’ve started working on the book.  Have started playing with Adobe InDesign (which has become a little more intuitive after 2 days), have selected the photos from my trip to Lauca that might potentially be highlighted, and have started playing with page layouts and designs.

I’ve discovered that portrait photos are fairly easy to position in a landscape, A4 layout, but landscape photos not so much….  Still working on it!

The bike is back!

July 14, 2006

…and so far running smoothly.  Of course, it ran smoothly last time Russell rode it from the service centre home as well and then promptly didn’t work.  They’ve changed the fuel jet to be a larger size and they tell us they had absolutely no problem with it at all (typical)!  Because of this, they think we are idiots of course … but hopefully this is it, it is fixed and we don’t have to go back for another year!

Roll on non-wet weather so I can get out there and ride!
